This is a placeholder. The final Terms of Service are being prepared for launch and will replace this page. Until then, the summary below describes the rules kati operates under.
1. The service
kati is a top-up platform that lets you buy airtime, data, electricity tokens, and TV subscriptions from licensed Nigerian billers. We are not the biller. The service the biller provides is governed by their terms; kati is responsible for routing your payment to them.
2. Your account
You sign in with a Nigerian phone number. You are responsible for keeping access to that line. Anyone with your line and your one-time codes can sign in as you. We recommend setting a PIN.
3. Payments & refunds
Wallet top-ups are final once Paystack confirms the payment. If a recharge fails after we have already debited your wallet, we credit the amount back to your wallet automatically. Card-funded recharges that fail are credited back to your wallet, not the original card — the wallet remains spendable on a retry. Refunds back to a bank account are available within {wallet refund window} days of the original top-up.
4. Cashback
Cashback is credited automatically on successful recharges, subject to a per-transaction cap and a per-day cap. Cashback is non-refundable to a bank account — it stays inside the wallet and can be spent on future recharges.
5. Acceptable use
kati is for personal and small-business use. Reseller mode is available with higher limits for legitimate retailers. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, attempt fraud, or violate Nigerian law.
6. Liability
kati operates a best-efforts service. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of any biller or payment provider. Our liability is limited to the amount of any failed transaction.
